Set up your store for success to make money and attract shopaholics. How can you possibly know what to do with such little time?

After talking to Meta experts, I have created a simple checklist that will help you make your Instagram or Facebook Shop a big success during this holiday.

Start planning today!

Prepare your store for Black Friday with these 11 steps.

Reaching the right audience and using the right products is the key to a successful Black Friday. This used to mean a well-placed advertisement in the local paper or on the radio. Social media is the most effective way to reach shoppers today. Instagram and Facebook are the two social media platforms that offer the best shopping experience.

Facebook and Instagram Shops are excellent ways for businesses and brands to reach a large audience and showcase their products. They also make it easy to browse through and buy items in just a few simple clicks. Since most people already use these social media platforms (we’re talking more than 3 billion users), buying is a natural way.

Here are some tips for business owners who want to make the most of Black Friday.

If you still need to do so, start planning your holiday strategy.

Black Friday can be a make-or-break time for many businesses. They either end up with a profit, or they go into the red. It’s essential to plan for traffic.

Businesses can avoid being overwhelmed by the high demand by planning and ensuring everyone has a good experience. Planning and making deals, placing your ad budget, organizing your product inventory, and providing customer service are essential.

Instagram and Facebook Shops let businesses set up coupons, discount codes, and time-sensitive offers during checkout. It is essential to match your request with the site.

Meta Shop Banners: Update them

Retailers need to ensure that their signage is current and attractive to attract customers to their stores. It is essential for banners because they are often the first thing people notice when looking for great deals or promotions.

A well-designed banner can create urgency, causing shoppers to feel the need to act immediately to secure the best deal. These images are similar to the hero pictures on a website, but they’re for your Instagram Shop.

They can also highlight sales and promotions to make it easier for customers to find what they want. What good is a promotion if nobody knows about it, right?

Remember, if you want to take advantage of this busy shopping event, to update your banners for social shops with attractive designs. This could be the key to attracting more customers into your store.

Make your organic media shoppable

Facebook and Instagram Shops let you tag a specific product each time you upload a photo, video, story or reel. This is important because it directs users away from organic publications to your store, where they can find all the details about the product they are interested in.

Tags can also give you a clearer picture of how people are interacting with creatives and products.

You can now tag your feed posts with your products. You can now link your posts organically without using the ‘link in biography.’ Select ‘products” and then the @ symbol. Once you’ve found your product, select it.

Make your product a success

The product description should include everything that a buyer needs to know in order for them to purchase the item. This includes:

Product descriptions that are engaging and informative

During the holidays, standing out among the many sellers can be difficult. To stand out, make sure that your product descriptions and titles are concise, clear, and appealing.

A good product description is essential for any business, whether you are selling clothing, accessories or home décor. It will give potential customers all the information they need about a particular product, such as its features, benefits and more. It should appeal to the customer so they are more likely to click “add to cart.” Don’t forget to include a solid call to action and to use convincing language.

It’s against the rules to include urls within your product description. Remember to focus your product descriptions on the benefits. Users will often only have 1-3 seconds in which to assess a product’s efficacy or interest.

Images of high quality

Images clearly displaying the product details and well-lit can make the difference between customers clicking “add to basket” or moving to the next item in their list.

Images for Instagram and Facebook Shops must be 500×500 pixels. It’s also important to include more than one image and emphasize features.

Meta experts say that if you have a product in the lifestyle section, having detailed images of your product can increase your chances of making a purchase by 6-8%.

A little extra tip: Include a photo of a selfie taken by a customer with the product. Showing real customers holding or using your product can make a huge difference in your conversions.

Include pricing, sizes, and availability

If you don’t provide this information, no one will purchase anything from your store! Check your products to ensure they all include the sale price, available stock, and sizes. (This only applies to items in categories such as Clothing Accessories, Newborn & Baby Fashion Accessories, and Costume Accessories).

You can (and should) include a size chart in your product description to give users confidence when purchasing. This could reduce the return rate.

Update your catalog

A dated catalog may make it hard for customers to find the items they are looking for and cause them to shop elsewhere.

You must update your catalog to include all of the products on sale. This will help your customers to make informed decisions about their purchases and increase sales.

Your catalog should:

Display all products and their variants

Include all product information: fill in all fields (materials and ingredients, multiple images or videos, size charts, etc.)

Update collections with new products and stock quantity. You can automate the updating of your catalog using Meta Pixel.

Checkout on Facebook and Instagram Shops

It is inconvenient to redirect users to another platform or your website to complete a purchase. This can result in lost sales. It is HIGHLY recommended to set up your store with checkout if allowed. This will help customers find and purchase your products in one place.

All fee-enabled checkouts will be waived in eligible US stores until the end of 2022.

Commerce Manager allows you to set up onsite checkout. It is only available for US-based shops. This will provide insights into the demographics of your shoppers and their full-funnel conversions, which can then be used to optimize your marketing campaigns.
