These are a few question to ask yourself before jumping into internet marketing. This is not a test where you have to answer yes to every question.

Do I like to learn new things?

Even if they drive me crazy in the process of figuring them out? If you like things easy where you’re comfortable and happy then you’re not going to want to stretch yourself to learn new things and get to the spot where you are making a good income. If you truly want to go down the internet marketing path then you will need to be prepared to learn many new things, which may seem hard and challenging at first, but you have to challenge yourself to grow.

Am I afraid of this challenge?

Everyone is afraid and doubts their ability at some time in their career, even as an internet marketer, but take action anyway. Don’t be that person who has created a very good book but won’t put it up for sale because it is not perfect. The problem is nothing to do about its quality but about being afraid of failure.

Will I allow myself to fail?

Failing is all a part of learning. You need to be prepared to carry on after a failure and learn from your mistakes, always moving forward. You may have taken a big hit but you should develop the mindset that you have just paid for some valuable information and you now know what should be done in the future.
Learn as you earn.

Can I stay focused?

Many wannabe marketers fall victim for the latest products that promise easy cash for the push of a few buttons. They believe the marketer and know this is the one that will work. A lot of time is spent reading sales letters and buying new products instead of focusing on one business model and giving it 200 percent until it’s making a good income.

Can I be my own boss?

Successful internet marketers start off pushing themselves much harder than any boss ever did. They realize that to make the big bucks they will have to work hard in the beginning, and smarter later. Until you complete your planned work you must tell yourself there is no more TV or online games etc.

Where is help when I need it?

At some stage when you are researching on and offline, or reaching out to a person in the know, you will need to find answers to various issues and problems you come across. The answer is sometimes as simple as looking on YouTube or Google but if you don’t look for that answer in the usual and unusual places you will finish up dead in the water.

Are you comfortable with selling?

This is the big one. Whatever product you have, you are going to have to sell it. You won’t get far being the “apologetic marketer” but you don’t have to be aggressive and push your product down peoples throats either. The answer is to find a happy medium where you can be true to yourself whilst at the same time sell your product.

Am I a total control freak?

For many people this is a tough one as they want to do everything themselves and control every aspect of their business. By doing this they are actually holding themselves back and preventing their business from growing. You must forget that you can do it better yourself and look to outsource from someone you can trust and then build your team.

Can I network?

To be successful at internet marketing you can’t go it alone even if you’re the only one in your small office. You need to start building relationships with other marketers. They could give you constructive criticism of your product or help with copy writing or with marketing funnel ideas. For this help you can offer such things as installing a script for them or giving a testimonial for their latest product etc.
