No matter how high your Coronavirus marketing is, you must know when it should be ramped up again.
I have some great news! I have three great tips to help you decide when to increase your marketing efforts.
Consider these three points before you give these tips a try.
Seasonality: Given our unique situation, seasonality might defy norms in specific sectors.
These are guidelines, so make sure to consider other factors. It’s hard to beat talking to prospects and clients to find their opinions.
Which country are you operating in? If you’re an international organization, you should know the status of each country.
These are my top two tips for boosting your digital marketing.
Google Trends Tool One: This handy tool can be used for many tasks, but it is best for looking at trends and the likely future trend.
How to use: Open the link and select the country you are interested in. Type in either a phrase or keyword. I have chosen the UK and the best second-hand car in this example. I also chose ‘over seven days’.
I don’t know the seasonality usually I would also search the same period last years – this will give me an indication of whether this year’s figures have been adjusted .
This is based on the search I did last year for ‘best second-hand car’. I am aware that it will be back so I keep an eye on it each week.
This free tool will only provide information based upon Google’s data. If you are serving an international market, this will not give you any useful data
Google Search Console is Tool Two – This amazing and free tool is often underused by many businesses.
It will require you to install it first. This uses your Google Analytics account code. You are already a GA user and it will provide you with your past data.
Google Analytics (Acquisition/Search Console) allows you to view some of your Google Search Console data. To fully utilize this tool, log into Google Search Console.
After you log in, select the property you wish to see data for.
Take a look at the impressions*. This is historical data, but if you pay attention (last 7 days and the day before) you’ll start to notice if people are beginning to search more.
This tool only works if your website ranks for key terms, e.g. This tool is only useful if your website ranks in some form for key terms, e.g. “best second-hand car”
Google Analytics is Tool Three. This tool should be your best friend as a marketer. It is great to see which content is being viewed on your website and how long they spend.
To give an example, our website saw traffic drop for a while. However, impressions remained constant. In the last few weeks, traffic has returned – i.e. People were still searching but only for quick results. Now that they have settled down, they are starting to search deeper and reaching out for quotes.
It is important to look at all the trends and see what’s happening in the market. However, these tools can help you make informed decisions and ensure that you are meeting your customers’ needs.
These simple tips are useful to your business. Our company has been helping Coronavirus-affected businesses adapt and maximize their marketing efforts to generate profitable sales. We are happy to chat with you if you need further assistance.
A URL for a link records an impression that appears in a search result. The type of search element that includes the link will determine whether or not it must be scrolled to view the link.
